ANNEXE 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
The event shall take place on designated days in the month of July each year. The dates shall be submitted to the Licensing Authority within two weeks of the start date of the event.
The main duties of the stewards shall be to ensure safe conditions are maintained at all times and provide communication links between visitors, exhibitors and event management. In the event of a crime all stewards shall be instructed in how this should be dealt with.
Public Safety
No vehicles shall be allowed on site during the event unless in an emergency, then they are escorted by a team of stewards to maintain safety.
If evacuation is required, this shall be co-ordinated by the Head Steward who will take charge of communications for any emergency, linking with the park rangers and any other services required.
The main event shall be managed by a minimum of 60 stewards and 6 park rangers.
The stewards shall be easily identifiable by their distinctive black polo shirt and day glow tabards and ID photo badges. Two way radios shall be co-ordinated from the stewards control point by the event co-ordinator and the control point supervisor, plus additional staff to answer enquiries.
The head steward shall have access to the rangers radio system and shall have mobile phones for emergencies.
Fire extinguishers shall be located in the entrance of all marquees (Fire Wardens and Stewards shall be trained to use these).
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
Public nuisance shall not be tolerated, but dealt with by; Senior management (Rangers, DAD Stewards) who will notify the police if required.
The Prevention of Children from Harm
Children and vulnerable people shall be protected from harm and kept safe in the "Lost children/vulnerable people area" until a responsible adult collects them (parent/carer).
Vulnerable children and adults guidance notes shall be given to all stewards. Radio/public address systems assist with this.
